What is Regenerative Medicine Pembroke Pines

What is Regenerative Medicine?

Based on molecular biology principles, regenerative medicine is a relatively new field focused on tissue regeneration to restore proper function to the human body. Regenerative medicine treatments are becoming increasingly popular for a variety of reasons including:

  • Versatility: Regenerative medicine can treat a range of conditions involving tissues, such as cartilage, muscle, and bone.
  • All-natural: The tissues used in regenerative treatments come from human donors. They enhance the human body’s natural healing properties.
  • Minimally invasive: Injectable treatments cause only minor discomfort, and there is no downtime as a result of treatment.

Regenerative Cell Therapy

Often the term “stem cell therapy” is used to describe all treatments involving stem cells. However, conventional stem cell therapy uses stem cells from within the patient’s own body (e.g., from bone marrow or adipose tissue) or those from a close family member. One of the drawbacks of using these types of stem cells is that they are older cells—the age of the patient or family member—and as stem cells age, they become less efficient.

Regenerative Cell Therapy Homestead, FLOur medical clinic offers advanced regenerative cell therapy, using young tissue that contains growth factors and stem cells sourced from tissue banks that collect cells from the umbilical cords of newborns at the time of cesarean delivery. These young cells deliver incredible regenerative power when injected into your damaged tissue.

In addition to regenerative cell treatments, our doctors also offer amniotic fluid therapy. Similar to other regenerative tissue, our liquid amnion allografts are safely and ethically collected from pre-screened donors at cesarean birth. Amniotic fluid is comprised of several components. They include hyaluronic acids, amino acids, polyamides, cytokines, and collagen substrates that help stimulate tissue regeneration when injected into the affected area of the body.

Platelet-Rich Plasma

Platelets play a vital role in the healing process. They contain multiple growth factors that promote the regeneration of damaged tissue. Platelet-rich plasma therapy is a less expensive alternative to stem cells or amniotic fluid. It is made from the patient’s own blood, and thus, no donor tissue is required.

Platelet-rich plasma injections can be just as effective as stem cell or amniotic fluid injections in certain circumstances. It is also used in aesthetic treatments, such as hair regrowth and wrinkle reduction.

Common Conditions Treated with Regenerative Medicine

Regenerative treatments are highly effective for a wide range of conditions, such as:

  • Knee pain and other joint pain (e.g., neck pain, shoulder pain, elbow pain, hip pain)
  • Back pain including disc problems such as a bulging disc, herniated disc, torn disc, slipped disc, and ruptured disc
  • Damaged or degraded cartilage
  • Torn ligaments
  • Tendonitis
  • Numbness in hands and feet
