YOU ARE NOT ALONE!
This is written for people who suffer from Myofascial Pain Dysfunction (MPD).
This is a syndrome which is triggered as a result of trauma such as, automobile accident, slip & fall, battery, and other contributing factors create the dysfunction.
We use the term Myofascial Pain Dysfunction (MPD) to describe a group of symptoms which involve pain in the muscles around the pain. The word "myofascial" emphasizes the role the muscles play. "Myo" is the Greek word for muscle, and "fascial" refers to connective tissue in muscle.
You may have seen other terms to describe the same group of symptoms. Popular magazines typically use the term TMJ. This is short for Temporomandibular Joints, the two joints which connect your jaw to your head. Dentist speak of "Craniomandibular Dysfunction" (cranio=head; mandibular=jaw). Here we will use the term MPD.
